Nearly half of Spanish households (47%) have already entrusted floor cleaning to autonomous devices. However, until recently, most of these machines merely shuffled dust from one spot to another or dampened parquet floors without much precision.
The arrival of the Dyson Spot+Scrub™ Ai breaks from this tech complacency. After years of studying the sector, the British firm has launched a solution that combines its renowned cyclone power with a visual processing neural network. Dyson has designed a rolling computer capable of distinguishing between a dried coffee stain and a charging cable.
The decline of traditional vacuums—why suction alone no longer suffices.

Enjoy a cleaner home with the Dyson Spot + Scrub™ Ai. Sales of canister vacuums have dropped 34% over the past five years. Today, people no longer just want a tool; they seek a comprehensive home hygiene manager. For a long time, the market was flooded with hybrid robots that promised to vacuum and mop simultaneously, but the result was often the “wet rag effect”—soaked floors or mud spread because dust wasn’t properly collected first.
The Dyson Spot+Scrub™ Ai marks a drastic shift in how technology interprets dirt. Thanks to its high-speed dToF LiDAR scanning, it performs ultra-precise mapping and navigation, leaving no corner untouched.
Performance evolution in high-end robot vacuums. To determine which model is the best option, we consider the following variables: generation, average suction power, mopping technology, and human intervention (i.e., how often the user has to rescue the robot, clean its brushes, or manually refill tanks)*. Unlike models from 2016, 2020, and 2023, the Spot+Scrub™ Ai boasts 18,000 Pa (vs. 1,200 Pa, 2,800 Pa, and 5,500 Pa respectively), and requires just 0.2 human interventions per week (compared to 4.5, 2.1, and 1.0 respectively).
Technical breakdown: the inner workings of the Spot+Scrub™ Ai revealed.

Beneath its minimalist design hides a motor spinning at 110,000 revolutions per minute. But power is useless if the brush gets clogged with hair. That’s why it includes a conical anti-tangle head with a Chevron silicone roller, which moves hair to the end and vacuums it directly without tangling.
Another innovation is its HD camera with AI intelligence. This system visually inspects surfaces and identifies over 100 objects and substances. It also features a high-contrast green light beam that reveals stains and dust normally invisible to the naked eye.
– Local intelligence: Processes 15,000 images per second securely inside the robot, without sending data to the cloud.
– Noise modulation: The robot “whispers” in clean areas and boosts power only when it detects dirt.
– Extended autonomy: Offers up to 200 minutes of operation, returning to the base only when it needs recharging.
Targeted military-grade mopping: debunking the “wet rag effect.”

Unlike low-end models that drag a dirty cloth, the Dyson robot completely separates the vacuuming and mopping ducts. It uses a 12-point hydration system that cleans the roller with fresh water on every rotation. The most innovative feature is its ability to clean with hot water, making it much easier to remove dried coffee or grease stains. When the sensor detects a tough stain, the robot stops, injects micro-pulses of water, and scrubs in concentric circles until the optical sensor confirms the floor is spotless. Additionally, the wet brush ensures thorough cleaning without leaving residue.
