Nottingham Forest Women have ended their association with head coach Carly Davies, who spent nearly three years in charge. The club announced the decision following a mid-table finish in the second tier this season, after securing promotion and winning the Women’s National League Cup double the previous year.
Davies, who had extended her contract until the summer of 2027 in November 2024, oversaw a campaign that saw the team finish in the middle of the pack. In a statement, the club said: “The current campaign in the second tier has seen the team finish mid-table in a competitive league. After careful consideration, as the team continues to push towards the WSL, the club has made the decision to begin a fresh cycle under new management.”
The statement added: “Everyone at Nottingham Forest sincerely thanks Carly for her dedication, commitment and professionalism, recognizing her significant contribution to the club’s recent upward trajectory and success.”
Davies previously worked with the England Under-19 side and served as assistant manager at West Bromwich Albion. Under her guidance, Forest won nine of their 22 league matches this season, including three victories in four games before their final-day 3-0 home loss to Southampton.
