Embroidery, the two-year-old champion from last season, made a flawless return in her 2024 debut, winning the Hanshin Himba Stakes (Sanspo Hai) in commanding fashion. She seized the lead from the break and used her explosive speed to fend off the field. In her final workout one week ahead of the Victoria Mile on May 7, the filly turned in an impressive time of 65.9 seconds over five furlongs on the woodchip course at Miho Training Center, with a final furlong of 11.1 seconds, finishing four lengths ahead of a stablemate. Trainer Kazuhiro Mori noted her progress: “She really showed a strong burst in the stretch. It was an excellent workout. She has grown a size, and her core strength is much more solid. She’s starting to develop the physique of a mature older horse.”
