The Philadelphia 76ers are reportedly poised to assess the roles of president of basketball operations Daryl Morey and head coach Nick Nurse as part of their offseason plans following the team’s early playoff exit, according to Tony Jones.
Multiple league sources told The Athletic that both Morey and Nurse are expected to come under review as ownership determines the franchise’s next steps.
“The jobs of Morey and head coach Nick Nurse are expected to be evaluated entering the offseason,” multiple league sources told The Athletic.
While speculation swirls around both positions, no final decisions have been made as of yet. Team sources indicated that ownership intends to take additional time after the season before deciding on any major organizational changes.
“As of Sunday’s elimination, team sources said ownership has not made final decisions on either and is likely to take a few days to assess before making any major calls.”
The 76ers entered the season with championship aspirations but now face critical questions about their long-term direction after another disappointing finish. The evaluation process will weigh both executives’ recent performance and the team’s broader trajectory.
