The disciplinary committee of the Czech Football League (LFA) has ruled that Slavia Prague must accept a technical defeat following the misconduct of their supporters during a league clash with Sparta Prague.
The match, held on May 9 at Slavia’s stadium, saw the home side leading 3-2 as the game entered stoppage time. With the referee adding 10 extra minutes, fans broke through steward lines in the 97th minute, stormed the pitch, attacked Sparta players, and hurled pyrotechnics toward the away section. The encounter was halted and never resumed. A victory would have secured the league title for Slavia.
As part of the sanctions, the LFA ordered Slavia to play their next four official home matches without spectators. The club was also fined 10 million Czech koruna (approximately €410,000), and the team received a technical defeat.
“We respect the decision and fully recognize the gravity of what happened, as well as the club’s responsibility as match host,” Slavia said in an official statement. “The safety of players, coaching staff, club employees, partners, and fans has always been and remains an absolute priority. Any pitch invasion or unacceptable behavior at the stadium is completely unacceptable to us.”
